and Wales, incorporated by Royal Charter in 1880, is one of the largest
and most respected professional bodies in the world.
It currently has in excess 91,000 members of whom about 45% are engaged
in public practise as partners or employees, And 45% work mainly in
industry and commerce or in the public sector.
Every Chartered Accountant undergoes a carefully structured and closely

and business practise, and must pass rigorous examinations to gain
the right to use the designation ACA or FCA.
Those who offer their services to the public must also acquire a further
two years of supervised experience before they can receive a practising
certificate. All Chartered Accountants are expected to keep their
knowledge up to date throughout their professional life.
Committed to the highest standards of quality, integrity and independence,
members of the institute provide a wide range of services to help
